Volume II Issue II April-June 2022
Name of Author :
Ms Wanrishisha Dkhar
Title of the paper :
The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005: Its Effective Implementation and Drawbacks
Abstract:
Interdependence is part and parcel of every human and when one reveres and takes utmost importance of it, he or she respects and in return is respected. The proverb that says “Respect earns respect” indicates that when an individual respects his surrounding which includes a fellow human, animal or nature, such an individual will refrain from indulging in malpractices which would hurt the other individual. Thus, respect and love are the key element to a peaceful and harmonious world. Man and woman are interdependent of each other but the bitter truth of this concept has always been mocked because in reality one sex has always dominated and felt superior over the other sex, this pride and ego has been the root cause of all the evil that exist in this world. Sushmita Sen, former Miss universe once said that men are the giver and women are the nurturer, thus when only one is taken high priority over the other it creates an imbalance in nature and the consequences arises from it. When you kill the nurturer, growth and development becomes static and slowly it comes to a halt
