Abstract:
As urbanization sweeps across the globe, about a billion of people lives in informal settlements, cities are often seen as a place of economic activity. Over the past few years we have seen many people have migrated to the cities in search of economic development. Hence, the growth of informal settlement is increasing from time to time which ultimately leads to urban population Towns and cities were often seen as part of the landscape that linked people and communities and their interconnection between them in terms of trade and commerce etc. The Millennium Development Goals were meant to encourage city governments to improve provisions for water and sanitation. However, the Sustainable Development Goals surprised us all. The Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 11 talks about Making cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable,as Cities are hubs for ideas, commerce, culture, science, productivity, social development and much more. Every city must be livable with proper amenities. The future we want includes cities of opportunities for all, with access to basic services, energy, housing, transportation and more.
