Abstract: War activity remains most researched subject in Politics and International Relations. War making has become part of larger social, political and military culture which incorporates wider audience as well as terrain. The history of most wars demonstrates social and political nurturing of a special kind of ‘militarised masculinity’. The prevailing gendered order creates conditions under which specified roles are determined to men and women. This paper tries to address gender division of war and significance of men and masculinity in the process of militarization. It tries to understand gendered order that produces war and vice versa. It further studies impact of war on women’s lives as well.
