Title of the paper :
Detestation on Racial Identity in Lessing S The Grass Is Singing
Abstract:
This article explores Doris Lessings novel The Grass is Singings characters inner thoughts on their racial identities. Southern Rhodesia current-day Zimbabwe is where the story takes place during white colonialism. Each of the characters had an internal sociological perspective on the natives racial status. Each white character in the book believes they are better than black people, despite the fact that they are themselves underprivileged and in debt. They believe that even if they are psychologically ignorant, they will nevertheless demonstrate their dominance over the indigenous. This is an analysis of how characters internalised racism. Mary Turner, the main character, believes that because of her deep-seated hatred for black people, she should treat black people like slaves, act rudely towards them, and help with tasks that are not genuinely necessary to her.
