Volume III Issue I January-March 2023
Name of Author :
E Mubeena Taj, Prof. V Hemalatha
Title of the paper :
Interpreting and Representing Gender Expressions on Feminism in A Thousand Splendid Suns
Abstract:
Afghan- American novelist Khaled Hosseini was known for his suggestive descriptions of Afghanistan. The Kite Runner 2003. A Thousand Beautiful Suns 2007 and Echo of the Mountain 2013 and Sea Prayer 2018 are his major workshops. His workshop dealt with the political uneasiness in Afghanistan. He entered the Indies Choice Book Award for adult fabrication. Khaled Hosseinis alternate novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, covers the lives of two Afghan women, their families, friendship and intentions for the future, set against the background of three decades of political boulevance, and was inspired by a trip to Kabul, Afghanistan, the authors motherland, in 2003. A Thousand Splendid Suns seeks to draw parallels between Mariam and Laila, two womanish protagonists who struggle with political imbalance, social inequality and oppression in their separate countries. Khaled Hosseinis erudite style in A Thousand Splendid Suns is both likable and disgusting. He sympathizes with individuals who are burdened by battle. He does this primarily through two erudite bias symbolism and imagery. The central theme of the novel A Thousand Beautiful Suns is womens rights, especially during the Taliban period. Mariam and Laila were born into anti-oppressive administrations. Mariams prosecution in the colosseum instanced the injustice of her treatment. The exploration paper examines the feminist side of the novel.
