Volume III Issue I January-March 2023
Name of Author :
M Subhashini, Prof. D Geethalakshmi
Title of the paper :
R. K. Narayans Swami and Friends Portrays Childlike Innocence
Abstract:
In 1935, Narayan released Swami and Friends, which was praised as a brilliant work of literature by knowledgeable critics and academics. One of the best books ever is this one. It is a comprehensive examination of the heros quest for maturity as well as his childlike innocence. The novel’s texture includes Narayans personal experiences as he describes the lives of boys in South Indian schools. Thus, it is clear that the novel contains an autobiographical component. The thoughts, feelings, and actions of schoolboys are vividly described. The protagonist of the story is Swami, and the action of the book has always been seen from his perspective.
