Volume III Issue I January-March 2023
Name of Author :
S Priyadharshini, Mrs. K Vimala Devi
Title of the paper :
The Exploration of Female Identity in Doris Lessings The Golden Notebook
Abstract:
The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing addresses challenges specific to women who live in a male-dominated society, hence this journal aims to examine the feminist complexities in the development of female identity in the book. It also raises issues on what it means to be a woman in a patriarchal society. Also, the analysis tries to highlight female concerns, identity, gender, love, marriage, and freedom by examining Anna, the protagonist of the book, and the numerous occurrences in her life. It does this by discussing femaleness in a modern society where women face many social and political issues by using the feminist method. In fact, the book empowers and gives a voice to the worlds voiceless women, and it offers a realistic portrayal of female identity from a feminist perspective.
