Abstract:
John Knowles novel A Separate Peace is a powerful coming-of-age story that explores the destruction of childhood innocence in the context of war. This journal article examines the various ways in which the novel portrays this theme, including the psychological and societal implications of the loss of innocence. The article also analyzes the use of symbols and motifs to illustrate the theme of the destruction of childhood. Finally, the article discusses the novels enduring relevance in contemporary discussions of trauma and resilience.
