Title of the paper :
Structural, Optical and Conductivity study of surfactant-mediated Tin Oxide (SnO2) Nanoparticles Synthesised by Sol-gel method
Abstract:
Tin Oxide is one of the extensively used metal oxide semiconductor due its chemical and mechanical stabilities. Pertaining to its unique electronic, magnetic, and optical properties, SnO2 nanoparticles may find wide applications in various fields, such as microelectronics, photo-catalysis, nonlinear optics, photoelectron-chemistry, and electro-optics. The properties of SnO2 that control its potential applications depends on the different types of synthesis routes and methods. In the present work, tin oxide nanoparticles were synthesised using cationic surfactant CTAB Cetyltrimethyl Ammonium Bromide from TinIVChloride pentahydrate via sol-gel method. The as-synthesised sample was studied using powder X-ray Diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy and impedance spectroscopic studies. From impedance analysis, the conductivity of the sample at room temperature was found to be 4.653E-06 Scm. The temperature dependent nature of conductivity, dielectric and modulus properties of the as-prepared sample were also explored.
