Volume III Issue II April-June 2023
Name of Author :

Title of the paper :
A Study of Communist Aspirations, Feminism, and Women in Indian English Literature
Abstract:
The concept also privatised womens options for labour, education, support of reform, and opinion-expressing. Womens rights activists like Frances Wright, Harriet Martineau, and Mary Wollstonecraft were criticised for upsetting societys natural order and accused of being unfeminine. As a reaction to the cult of authentic womanhood, the idea of the New Woman evolved during the progressive era. Eastern society differs from western culture in that it has a different growth process, a different formation system of awareness, and different cultural practices. Indias national culture continues to be one of the most important in the east. Researching Indian womens literature through study on foreign literature makes it possible to compare western and eastern criticisms of womens literature and determine the traits of feminist writing in India. Indian women particularly female intellectuals started to awaken and fight for the fundamental rights of equality between female and male at the turn of the 20th century, as the feminist movement spread across the globe. The call for womens independence, sex equality, and the freedom of self-determined courting and marriage increased in volume as the wave against the feudal ethical code grew. Women tended to leave traditional households and go towards a young society, rejecting outmoded traditional ways of thinking. Research on Feminism in English Literature is the topic of this essay that will be explored.
