Volume II Issue IV October-December 2022
Name of Author :
M. Krishnaraj
Title of the paper :
Psychological Murder: Deliberations on The Myth Busting in Morrison’s The Bluest Eye
Abstract:
Toni Morrison is one novelist who wanted to bring to the forefront the pain of being rejected, suppressed and segregated not from the point of view of an adult but rather from the perspective of a child. She has always felt that the need to belong to a place is the very essence of human nature and the reason one is not allowed to be accepted for a fault which one has not committed forms the most intense and intrinsic part of her narratives. The fact that she was not taken into consideration just because she was a black, or just because her color complexity involved the rest of the other so called superiors to seclude her was something which she endeavored to question through her novels. The lines like, being the only girl child who was black in her entire class or the only black child who could read when she was four underscores the idea that the American history has purposely ostracized them.
