The Fourth World Literature: Unveiling the Feminist Discourse in Northeast India
Abstract:
The Fourth World Literature represents the literature and cultural expressions of indigenous and marginalized communities across the world. Northeast India, being a region of diverse ethnic groups, has witnessed the emergence of a new literary discourse in recent times. This paper aims to explore the feminist discourse present in the Fourth World Literature of Northeast India. This paper will examine various literary works written by women from different ethnic communities in the region. This paper will highlight the importance of recognizing the voices of women in the Fourth World Literature and how they have been using their literary works to express their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. The analysis will also delve into the themes of gender, patriarchy, violence, and discrimination addressed by these writers in their works. This paper seeks to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the Fourth World Literature and its potential to promote social justice and equality.
