Corruption in Indian Education System in Chetan Bhagat’s Revolution 2020
Abstract:
Education occupies an important place as a social institution in history of human civilisation. With the development of social interaction, education established itself as it helped in the survival and progress of human being. The nature of education system changed with the social changes due to processes like industrialisation, modernisation, colonisation, globalisation etc. Indian education system is no exception. It has also undergone various changes in historical timeline. Literature has also tried to capture and reflect the dynamics of education system. Revolution 2020 by Chetan Bhagat is popular novel which deals with the current status of professional education in India. The present paper seeks to explore how Bhagat has presented the dark side of professional higher education system in India. The novel exposes the corruption in the system which affects the lives of millions of young minds. Key Words Corruption, Education, Globalisation, Professional, Young.
