Abstract:
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is a debut novel of Gail Honeyman published in 2017. It deals with the tough life of the protagonist, Eleanor Oliphant, who is an extreme introvert seldom likes to involve in any social interactions. She is haunted by her difficult past. The story explores the complex network of feelings and sensations of a person who is in depression. The crux of the novel is the healing power of human bonding. Gail Honeyman’s novel with its realistic and meticulous portrayal of Eleanors endearing persona, and ignited important dialogues regarding mental health and the value of interpersonal relationships is a flagship novel in the genre of illness narrative. It has won positive accolades and acknowledgment from the literary community. The aim of the article is to explore how kindness, resilience, and human connection can heal psychological problems.
