Portrayal of Traumatic Experiences of War Victims in Ishmael Beahs Radiance of Tomorrow
Abstract:
Trauma refers to the psychological wound which is caused by a horrible incident. Aminatta Forna is a Scottish born Sierra Leonean writer. Her works are set in the background of Sierra Leone civil war. It explores the historical, cultural and psychological conflicts experienced by the people. The characters in her novels usually suffer from psychological wound which is generally caused by the war. Her novel The Memory of Love deals with the theme of trauma, war, friendship, and betrayal. It is set in the pre and post Sierra Leone civil war. The objective of the paper is to explore the mental sufferings experienced by the people after the war.
