Volume III Issue IV October-December 2023
Name of Author :
S. R. Aswathy,Dr. R. Janatha Kumari
Title of the paper :
Women in an Incoherent Society: A Critique on Elif Shafak’s The Forty Rules of Love
Abstract:
Turkish literature has a long tradition of incorporating oral and written traditions. Elif Shafak is a well-known Turkish author and human rights activist. She tries to match narratives from multiple eras and her works span several centuries. The fact that women play a crucial role within the framework of a patriarchal society is obscured by the nomadic struggle and the arena for confronting several personal concerns. Because their bodies are brutalised to distinguish the ideal in social life, women victims suffer from havoc in their nature. The present paper explores the problems within the family that are consistently linked to the patriarchal power system.
