Name of Author :

Title of the paper :
Socio-Economic Pressures Led to Aggression in August Wilson’s King Hedley II
Abstract:
This research aims to investigate the stereotyped picture of African American males as aggressive and criminal persons, addressing this sensitive issue. However, the portrayal of African Americans in stereotypes has captured the interest of numerous black authors and psychiatrists who have endeavored to deconstruct these depictions by exposing the societal, psychological, and socioeconomic aspects that contribute to this phenomena. This paper examines the factors that motivate black guys to engage in aggressive behavior by analyzing August Wilsons play, King Hedley II 1999. In this piece, Wilson depicts the pervasive violence and its detrimental repercussions.
