Teaching Indonesian Language amidst Pandemic Covid-19: Problems and Solutions
Abstract:
This study was prompted by several concerns from educators and parents about the distance learning procedure. The Covid-19 Pandemic necessitates a distance learning procedure. Physical Distancing is the foundation for establishing distant learning or studying from home via the use of technology. However, the deployment of remote learning resulted in a slew of new challenges for instructors and parents to deal with at home. Students must acquire and improve four language abilities as part of the Indonesian language learning process listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students should master and develop the four elements of language. The emphasis of this study is on issues with Indonesian language acquisition in the aftermath of the Covid-19 outbreak. The goal of this study is to identify the challenges of learning Indonesian as a second language in the period of Pandemic Covid-19 and to propose methods to address those challenges. This study employs qualitative methodologies, with data collected using an online interview and questionnaire administered via Google Forms. The studys focus is on Indonesian language learning process in Pamekasan, Madura. The findings reveal that instructors, students, and parents face a variety of issues. Weak internet connections and inadequate internet data quotas, as well as a lack of understanding on how to use ICT, have become typical issues. Furthermore, participants capacity to educate in the pursuit of online learning is not complete, and it is dependent on their physical and psychological conditions when online learning is taking place.
