Abstract:
This modern English poetry exemplifies with many characteristic traits like diverse variety of themes, realism, love, pessimism, nature, humanitarian and democratic note, religion and mysticism. This extract deals with different modern poets, their chief characteristic feature and notable works. The Introduction states the significance of modern age and modern poetry. The Content deals with modern poets like Rudyard Kipling, Thomas Hardy, Robert Bridges, G. M. Hopkins, John Drinkwater, T. S. Eliot, W.H. Auden etc., The Conclusion deals with the classification of modern poets and their significance.
