Title of the paper :
A Comparative Gender analysis in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichi’s “We should all be Feminists”
Abstract:
The writers in the twenty-first century often deal with contemporary issues such as women’s pathetic plight and their typical role in the stereotypical society. Though technological developments make everyone’s life easier, society and gender expectations suppress women’s social position at every stage. Society expects men to treat women as an “object”. The desires of women remain unconcerned. In order to build women’s position as equal as men, the contemporary writers raise their voices for them through their works. Feminist writers deal with gender studies in different perceptions. The contemporary female writers such as Alice Walker, Janet Mock, Patricia Lockwood, Rebecca Traister and Magie Nelson want to break the stereotypical norms and customs which are given by the absurd society. These writers portray women in a better place through their powerful writings. Few male writers also got influenced and started depicting women’s rights and their freedom in a righteous way. The essay We should all be Feminists by Chimamanda Adichi attempts to highlighting the comparative gender analysis by her effective depiction.
