Volume II Special Issue V May 2022
Name of Author :

Title of the paper :
The Priests Journey With in A Soul
Abstract:
In his book Power and Fame, Greene devised a way to deal with the problem of the main character in a way that was not only clever but also unprecedented, the first successful depiction in the literature of a hero of the twentieth century. If Thackeray had previously announced that his intention in the Vanity Fair was to defy tradition by creating a ‘heroic novel’, his refusal was not just an act – Amelia might have ridiculed him for his excessive crying and Dobbin for her. Great feet, but their dedication, their unwavering integrity, and their high standards apparently succeeded against the clever Becky Sharp who seemed to hold the central position. And Becky is not an anti-hero, with Thackeray portraying her as a compassionate mother, an unfaithful wife, and suggesting a murderer.
