Title of the paper :
F. Scott Fitzgerald- The Icon of American Fiction
Abstract:
F. Scott Fitzgerald, the unavoidable icon of the American fiction, was fondly called the spokesman of ‘America’s roaring twenties. The most recognized figure in the American fictional, literary and cultural history of the 20th Century whose life story excited the fascination of the public especially the American Youth. His life is inextricably bound up with his work despite the unforgivable things he occasionally committed and caught. To understand the works of Fitzgerald as a successful writer, first one should understand his biographical sketches because his life and his works were intermingled and inseparable. Of the five novels Fitzgerald penned, The Great Gatsby and Tender is the Night, were more successful than band The Last Tycoon. His main themes - the theme of youth, success, and money – stem from attitudes founded on personal experiences – experiences often romantically removed to a heightened world. Fitzgerald’s claim to a distinguished place in modern American fiction world.
