Title of the paper :
LGBT Rights in India and the Pandemic
Abstract:
Out of the worst sufferers in times of Covid 19, the LGBT community deserves a special mention as even in normal times their suffering tales are endless. As if the pandemic has targeted them to amplify their woes because it was seen that they were deprived from every angle be in terms of employment, housing, healthcare and other domain. As the pandemic continues to take a toll nationwide, the LGBT community has experienced it differently with regard to mental health, employment loss, vaccine attitudes and willingness to engage in risk-reduction behaviour such as social distancing. This paper brings home the fact that LGBT community has been facing challenges since years and the pandemic had added salt to their wounds. The paper focuses on the different impediments they had to face because of the Covid 19 scenario. Further, the stakeholders should develop a sense of belongingness so that they can upgrade these people and make them strong enough to face any hardships in life.
