Volume II Special Issue VII July 2022
Name of Author :
Shirsak Ghosh
Title of the paper :
A Critical study of the selected poems of Alec Derwent Hope
Abstract:
Australian writer Alec Derwent Hope or A.D. Hope’s poem has gained a millennial status in the 20th century. Some of his poems deal with his experiences of frustrated desires of love, isolation, loss and guilt. Some of the poems are hard while other poems are well disciplined and tender. His connection to the masses deals with the verses that he writes. His erudite mind portrays the picture of many poems of various themes and it varies from different areas of his life. Through this article, the author has collected six of his selected poems and mentioned the critical study of each of the poems thoroughly. He has not been influenced by modern trends in poetic subject methods and his way of style is quite like other writers. The author has randomly selected six of his poems and all these poems portray a different theme of A.D. Hope as a writer.
