Psychological and Psychosocial Experience of Migrant Women
Abstract:
In a globalized world, migration is a fact of life, and it has made the world a better place. People relocate for a variety of reasons, including to pursue education abroad, reunite with family, find work and a living, and guarantee a better future for their kids. Others flee their countries in order to avoid discrimination, poverty, conflict, persecution, insecurity, and crime. The majority of people relocate within developing nations or from developing to developed nations.Migration is a phenomenon that is characterized and influenced by a variety of factors,and the various stages of the journey are connected to various degrees and types of psychological distress. Family separation, psychosocial stress and trauma, and health issues are just a few of the additional specific risks that women, in particular, are exposed to during migration and while they are in transit for migration. This paper try to identify elements that influence migrant womens psychological well-being at various points during their migration journey. With a geographic focus on w omen emigrating to the Mediterranean region, this will be a narrative review of the literature on the experiences of women during the migration process. and specifically on the psychological and psychosocial experience of migrant women.
