Title of the paper :
Woman: The Victim of Infertility in Manju Kapurs Novels
Abstract:
Infertility is one of the common and major issues prevailing in the present society. It does not only affect the patients and their life partners, it also affects the entire family, particularly women. The consequences for being childless lead the women experience emotional stress, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. The paper entitled “Woman The Victim of Infertility in Manju Kapurs novels” focuses on the everlasting struggle of women characters to attain motherhood after marriage. It argues that the patriarchal setup has led everyone to believe in motherhood as the primary function of women. So the treatment of infertility never harms men rather women are blamed and criticized inhumanly. The paper also analyses the psychological trauma that the infertile characters experience which leads them feel inferior both in home and society. It then elicits how they deal with the differences shown towards them by the family members and others.
