Volume III Special Issue I January 2023
Name of Author :
M Kanagarajan, Dr. G Keerthi
Title of the paper :
Rohinton Misrtys Perspective on the Depiction of Indian Culture and Womens Conditions
Abstract:
Mistry has created a wide variety of female characters in his three works of fiction, and the criticism and acclaim he has received for how he treats them hardly touches the surface. The spouses, widows, mothers, and single women in each of his stories will be the centre of this debate, which will also look at the specifics of their private and public colonies. This study will also use a number of socio-historical and cultural theories to describe how women are alternatively repressed and emancipated in their varied roles, in addition to examining Indian women in general and Parsi women in particular.
Keywords :
Inequality, Untouchability, Parsi, Post Colonialism, Loneliness
