Title of the paper :
A Theatrical Hodgepodge of Vengeance: An Analysis of Feminist Criminology in The Movie I Spit On Your Grave 3: Vengeance Is Mine
Abstract:
This research work is based on a 2015 American rape and revenge film I Spit On Your Grave 3 Vengeance Is Mine directed by R.D. Braunstein. In this research the Feminist Criminology theory has been applied to scrutinize the movie I Spit On Your Grave 3 Vengeance Is Mine. This movie is the third part of the sequel I Spit On Your Grave. The film follows the life of Jennifer Hills, an aspiring writer from the first part of the movie sequel in which it is shown that she gets raped by a group of men and she takes revenge by torturing and murdering them ruthlessly. In the third part of the movie sequel, Jennifer Hills is seen getting settled in Los Angels after having avoided conviction for her killing spree under the assumed name Angela Jitrenka. The movie shows her conversion into a serial killer who avenges all those girls raped and killed by men. This paper portrays how she adopts the path of crime in order to avail justice to women with the support of the Feminist and Psychoanalytic theories.
