Title of the paper :
Hearing The Silent Women of Indian Myths through Kavita Kanes Novels
Abstract:
Indian epics the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are very familiar and modern readers like to read mythological fiction based on these epics. Hence, Indian myths have been the favoured sources for revisionist myth-making. Kavita Kane focuses on the Mythical women who are made to be silent by the dominant patriarchal narratives and remarkably recreates them. In the original epics, these characters deserved a little mention and were used as supportive sources for the progress of the plot. She made these characters as the protagonists and voices them as individuals and empowered women. She brings the marginality and subjugation of women in Indian epics into the limelight.
