Title of the paper :
The Sad Plight of Honor Killing in Jamil Ahmeds Short Story The Sins of the Mother
Abstract:
Jamil Ahmed is a renowned Pakistani writer, who tries to highlight the social, and gender issues in his writings. Honor killing is a stigma on the face of Pakistani tribal culture, in particular where men and women both are slaughtered at the name of family honor. Honor, an undefined notion in a particular society like Pakistan, is used as a tool to justify the crime of murder. In the tribal areas of Pakistan where such murder is not considered a crime, honor killing is a punishment for those who contravene against the traditional honor code. Not only Pakistan, all over the world honor killing is happening. People think that honor killing is a solution to reduce the problem, but it is not actually a way to reduce it.
