Having a voice gives an individual agency and power, and a way to express his or her beliefs. What happens when that voice is in some way silenced? Being voice of the voiceless signals that the historically disadvantaged, vulnerable, and underrepresented, get opportunities to express themselves by leveraging the strengths of information, media, and communication technologies. An impressive list of tools and platforms—including literature, the internet, the social media, community radios, and free and open software—have all been instrumental. This paper seeks to celebrate this very quality of the English Language the global link the language of science, aviation, computers, diplomacy, tourism – the voice of the Voiceless.
