Title of the paper :
Recreating Women in History: A Study on Indu Sundaresans The Feast Of Roses
Abstract:
Women in history are constrained by social conventions. Women have historically been viewed as subjects or beings without considerable historical significance. In the novel The Feast of Roses, the author Indu Sundaresan aims to symbolise the potential of women rather than their limits. The purpose of this study is to examine the protagonist Nurjahan as a representative. A closer examination of Indu Sundaresans work highlights her fight for female liberation against the already framed patriarchal social trend. This study can also be seen as a response to the dominant gender and to acknowledge the character Nurjahan as a courageous voice to assert rights.
