Title of the paper :
Endeavours of Dichotomy in Survival: Cultural Recantation and Soul Revival in Kim Scotts Taboo
Abstract:
This article addresses the temporalities of displacement and cultural dislocation of the Australian Aboriginal community. The duality in the survival experiences of the indigenous people has been discussed through the critical articulation of Kim Scotts Taboo. It encapsulates the dynamic ability and necessity of survival spirit of the aborigines manifesting the situations of oppression and resilience between whites and natives. It examines the insider narratives that provide the scope to bring out social and cultural marginalization. This paper encompasses the binate temper of the survival strategies of the aboriginal community through their exile from their own land and their revisit to rejuvenate their tradition. The critical study is made on the above mentioned issues against the presumed congruency of the concept of psychomachia. It depicts the endeavours of the Australian aborigines through their displacement in an attempt to save their lives from racist oppressors and their efforts to reclaim their rights and identity based on the parameters of cultural survival, that is, spiritual.
