The Change in the New Woman: A New Face of Indian Culture in the Selected Novels of Manju Kapur and Shobha De
Abstract:
The current study is an honest and modest attempt to examine how Indian women have changed after the countrys division. India is experiencing the birth of a new woman, as the idea and status of women have evolved in the modern world. A change in attitude is evident in the lady who no longer hesitates to take the lead. Even though this new way of thinking has its limitations, the outcomes rely on the person. The researcher has made an effort through this study to investigate a new facet of Indian culture that gave rise to the new women shown in a few of Manju Kapurs and Shobha Des books. The new portrayal of a woman in the novels under investigation is one of bold, ambition, passion, and power. She combines elements of her own culture and western influences. She is a hybrid that, despite several disruptions, manages to maintain equilibrium in her various fields of existence. Our inquiry continues to be focused on all facets of her development, including social, political, and psychological.
