Title of the paper : Reverberation of Social Model of Disability in the picture book We Move Together

Abstract: Childrens picture books are the core material for literary, social and ethical development of children. Picture books help the children to comprehend unwritten depiction of settings and complex details of characters with embossed with moral and social principles. Picture books with disability narration, helps the children to get awareness, concern, acceptance and understanding of people with differently abled through the depiction of differently abled characters. Social model of disability corroborates the liberation of disable people by making them to participate in the midst of unrecognised society. We Move Together is a picture book authored by Kelly Fritsch, Ann McGuire and illustrated by Eduardo Trejos. It has deep rooted message to transmit the readers by exploring disability community and culture through different portrayal of participation of disabled people in the society. This research article glosses on how social model of disability portrayed in the select picture book, the problems faced by people with disability in the society and how they participate in the social activities without any hindrance and create their own society for their community based on Social Model of Disabilty.
