Abstract: Lakshmans Samboli!- Beware! exposes the atrocities faced by the Dalits in south Karnataka and their reaction to the prejudices meted out to them in the name of marginalization. The author has projected objectives and disheartening accounts of his life from birth to adulthood, carefully creating the image of his community and its conflict with the contemporary social and cultural conditions. This personal account uncovers the untouchables quest for dignity and the recognition of their human worth. In the present paper, the Predicaments of Identity and Marginalization is an attempt to highlight the crisis of identity and assertion of Dalit identity in the social hierarchy which contracted based on caste.
