Digital Literacies: Practical Approaches for the ELT Classroom
Abstract:
Teachers are expected to incorporate technology into the classroom these days as a result of advancements in technology. English language Teaching is not exempt from its influence in the twenty-first century. Using material provided by technologies, the classroom involves students in the teaching and learning process. In fact, it is also thought that technology in the language classroom can be incorporated for the teaching and learning of English. In addition to examining how and why these skills might be incorporated into English language teaching, the paper tries to define the multi-skill digital literacies construct. Together, they look at the advantages and difficulties of systematically tackling various facets of digital literacy in ELT contexts. The paper also discusses methods for overcoming students limited access to technology in class and intended to help ELLs acquire 21st-century abilities that will aid them both inside and outside of the classroom.
