Existential crisis of women in the novels of Sudha Murthy: An Analysis
Abstract:
Sudha Murthy is a well-known writer in Indian writing in English, particularly Feminist writings in India and her association with social service through Infosys Foundation is much appreciated. She has good command over Kannada, Marathi and English. Her works got her many awards at the national level. She deals with impact of globalization on Indian economy and its impact on the family structure, particularly rural and urban middle class families. Her narration technique is simple and straightforward. Her major novels are Dollar Bahu, Mahashweta, Gently Falls the Bakula, and House of Cards. She has also written two novellas and a few childrens stories. This study is limited to the exploration of Existential crisis of women with reference to her novels.
