Title of the paper :
Crossing Borders: Exploring Migration Through Post Millennial Films
Abstract:
This article examines the theme of migration as portrayed in post-millennial films. It delves into the social and political implications of migration, the representation of borders and crossing, the role of memory and nostalgia, and the reimagining of the migrant narrative. Through a critical analysis of films such as Children of Men, Dheepan, A Separation, The Shape of Water, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Moonlight, Capernaum, and Human Flow, this study explores how these films depict migration and its implications on individuals and societies. The analysis showcases the complexities of identity, the challenges faced by migrants, and the need for empathy and understanding in the face of migration. This research contributes to the broader understanding of migration and its cultural representations, ultimately highlighting the power of post-millennial films in fostering empathy and promoting social change.
