Title of the paper : Beyond Borders: Ayyappa Panikers Multilingual Muse

Abstract: Translation is the process of conversion from one language to another. However, there are different types of translation and each of them requires a different approach. K. Ayyappa Paniker was one of the pioneers of modern poetry in Malayalam, an influential literary critic, translator, academic and scholar. The objective of this article is to light upon the extensive work done by Ayyappa Paniker in the field of translation. His work in this area admirable and insightful in the main is documented to the extent possible. He had been recognised as the forerunner of Modernism in Malayalam poetry and an unblemished writer in Indian literature of all times. He had taken Malayalam poetry beyond the oceans and introduced to Kerala readers, poetic geniuses from as far away as Cuba, Senegal and Mexico. He is the poet as theoretician, Historiographer and Aesthetician.
