Name of Author :

Title of the paper :
Automediality: Sketching Self
Abstract:
The present paper explores the experimental form employed by Lalitha Zachariah in her annotated version of Mahatma Gandhis autobiography namely, My Early Life. It focuses on how Gandhis philosophical life is still significant in twenty first century for the children in the Indian schools. Lalithas annotated version of My Early Life highlights the scope of automediality as a prominent method to discuss mediums of self-representation in contemporary art practice, could also name a new methodology for understanding how digital andor online interfaces work within the area of auto biography studies. This transition suggests that autobiographical writings can be collected and aggregated. Automediality as a tool challenges the classical concept of writing autobiography and sets an example through which lives are re-visited, re-assessed, re-formed and re-narrated in the new era of globalization.
