Analysis of Women Characters in Jane Austens Novel Sense and Sensibility
Abstract:
This Paper aims to analyze the female characters in Jane Austens Sense and Sensibility. English novelist Jane Austen is most recognized for her six books that interpret, evaluate and remark on British society in the eighteenth century. Nearly 200 years after her passing, readers are still drawn to her novels. Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, Emma and Persuasion are among her well-known books. Jane Austen uses comedy, irony, Humour and satire in her book Sense and Sensibility. This paper describes Jane Austens Sense and Sensibility, two sisters serve as symbols for the traditional contrast between emotion and reason. The protagonist Elinor Dashwood, a unique heroine who stands for strength of character and reason is the main center of the book. The book makes an effort to investigate. The novel pursuits the readers with two sisters, one being the stereotype of emotion while the other rational who represent the two poles of negotiating the world of women in Jane Austens age of the enlightenment.
