This paper focuses that issue of Nigeria Gender struggle the bride price written by Buchi Emcheta highlights the racial discrimination a Nigerian born author who has resided in England since 1962, Emcheta is best known for her novels that address the difficulties facing modern African women forced into traditional and subservient roles Emcheta heroine often challenge the restrictive customs imposed on them and aspire to economic and social independence although some critics have categorizes Emcheta work as feminist in nature Emcheta reject the label , stating, she has written not only for African women but whole Africa
