Title of the paper :
Traumatic Confinement in Emma Donoghues Room
Abstract:
Emma Donoghue was one of the Canadas most important contemporary literary figures. She wrote many genres but she is known for her fictional works. Especially the novel Room, have won New York Times best sellers. It was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for the screenplay of its 2015 film adaptation. The novel focuses on a mother as Ma and son, Jack were living in a room as prisoners by the kidnapper. Room was a perfect portrayal of not only the effect of trauma, but the widespread effect of the lingering with Post Traumatic Disorder from a traumatic event or experience. The traumatic instances in room affected the mother. It was illustrated that mother was affected back in the real world. The writing of the characters and their response to the trauma is literally sentimental.
