Festivity of Womanism in Alice Walkers by The Light of My Fathers Smile
Abstract:
This research exploration work attempts to study Alice Walkers By The Light of My Fathers Smile from the feminist perspective as it examines the experience of womanish fornication as a festivity of life. Walkers womanish characters make a strong resistance to the hegemonizing hindrance of the manly character father by ignoring not only his control but also the morals of the society as a whole. important to the outrage of the father, Robinson the two daughters Susannah and Magdalena openly involve themselves in homosexual and heterosexual conditioning, thereby challenging and defying the patriarchal normativity of heterosexuality. Indeed, the mama stands by the side of the daughters, championing for their freedom. So, all the women characters eulogize the womanish fornication and pursue their own course of life ignoring the morals of the father figure and lessen the patriarchal morals and values.
