Title of the paper :
The Enchanting Tapestry of Multiculturalism and Cultural Estrangement in Leila Aboulelas Masterpieces: The Translator and Minaret
Abstract:
The paper proposes to probe into the cultural elements in Leila Aboulelas works that endow insight of the cultural identity and alienation in a multicultural Western community. Leilas literary creations, encapsulate her firsthand experience as an immigrant and frequently explore the obstacles encountered by individuals from diverse cultural and regional backgrounds as they forge their own unique identities. The exploration of cultural identity and the experience of alienation have been discussed extensively in the context of a multicultural society. The central characters in her writings often find themselves estranged from their place of origin, either by choice or due to circumstances that force them into exile. Grappling with the remnants of their trauma and memories from the past, they embrace their journey beyond their homeland, seeking to forge their new identity in an unfamiliar territory. This study vividly depicts the remarkable progression of navigating individuals in adapting to a foreign land, depicting the profound sense of alienation from their own culture and identity. The exceptional ability of individuals is demonstrated with the establishment of a unique and vibrant culture within the multicultural tapestry of a Western society.
