Title of the paper :
Traditional and Modern Interpretations of Women in Chitra Banerjee Divakarunis The Forest of Enchantments
Abstract:
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni is renowned for her writings on women and their conventional and contemporary perspectives. The recognition of gender has become an essential part of various fields, such as literature, history, and science, and is emerging as an independent field of study. This field goes beyond the mainstreaming of gender and is founded on the exploration of the sexed body and the interconnection between sex and gender, which are often inseparable. Gender is the preferred term for referring to social differences because of its broader scope than sex, which is considered biological and anatomical, and challenges the apparent limitations of biological reductionism. Womens studies and feminism have not only brought gender to the forefront but have also presented new ways of comprehending gender as a social, cultural, and political process and structure through which societies are organized.
