Name of Author :

Title of the paper :
Feministic Approach in Manju Kapurs Novels
Abstract:
Manju Kapur in her novels examines how girl has begun to grow as an individual and the number one center of collision for her becomes the group of marriage which has, to date, constituted the limits of space. The ladies in the novels of Manju Kapur are not traditional girls who assume that marriage is their future and they are to obey their husbands. They vary from traditional ladies and spoil all social taboos and conventions emerging as new ladies who are aware of themselves. This evolving new photograph of ladies has created a disaster in circle of relatives and society and has shaken the foundation of age- vintage establishments like marriage and motherhood. Pre-marital intercourse, fornication, greater-marital relations or divorce are now not taken into consideration to be a taboo. The ladies within the novels of Manju Kapur are the personification of the new lady. They are projected as convention – bashing new women, subverting the male chauvinism.
