Title of the paper :
Scrutiny on Identity Voyage in Shashi Deshpandes The Dark Holds No Terrors
Abstract:
Shashi Deshpande has a wide range of the main characters in her works. The descriptions in Deshpandes imaginary world come from almost every aspect of life. They have no official education. They serve as domestic helpers, creators, healthcare professionals, and attendants. In addition to the common issues of bereavement and poverty, women specifically go through particular kinds of experiencing loss. Deshpande portrays with compassionate understanding in the spectrum of suffering that a woman has to go through. Women feel obligated to undergo pain in order to preserve their silence for the sake of family reputation. The social norms also contribute to their agony. Shashi Deshpande writes about Indian women a lot in her writings. Most women stay inside their homes and keep quiet under such circumstances. Owing to Shashi Deshpande, whose sincere efforts have received recognition and identity from both local and worldwide spaces, womens neutrality is not any longer tolerated. Her keen understanding of social connections, her thorough scrutiny of the environment, and her objective perspective on actions and ideas all provided motivation for additional study in this field.
