Title of the paper :
Diasporic Elements in Monica Alis Brick Lane
Abstract:
In the present research paper, the researcher has endeavoured to explore the elements of diaspora in Monica Alis Brick Lane. Diaspora is the dispersion of people from their native land to the host land, either voluntarily or involuntarily. After expulsion, the dispersed suffer from varied issues and problems, such as dejection, nostalgia, alienation, identity crises, cultural assimilation, cultural hybridity, cultural displacement, multiculturalism, transnationalism, isolation, and many more. Diaspora literature talks about the impact of exile on immigrants and expatriates. The novel Brick Lane examines how immigrants struggle a lot to create their own identity in western society and how they start accepting the host culture as their own.
